Every Woman Needs a Midwife in Any Stage of Life
Lori Pearson Kramer is a Certified Nurse-Midwife and Nurse Practitioner specializing in women's health from adolescence through the life span. She has over 25 years experience providing healthcare for women with a blended approach of western, herbal and nutritional knowledge resulting in a compassionate, common sense and timeless approach to health.
My perspective originates from a different kind of wellness, where meaning and purpose are considered along with metrics and data when determining an individuals goals for optimal health. Where changing bodies, evolving perspectives, and stages of life are considered when trying to achieve your definition of wholeness.
I am here to support whatever it is in your life that needs birthing.
Midwife means "with women" and midwifery stems from a core belief that women are inherently powerful, capable, intuitive and able to take care of their bodies and make decisions about their health with autonomy, knowing and trust in their body's ability to heal and thrive. Sometimes, this trust is eroded by illness, culture, transitions or trauma. Midwifery approaches health as a partnership where we consider physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being in our quest for health as wealth.
I will not rescue you, for you are not powerless.
I will not fix you, for you are not broken.
I will not heal you, for I see you in your wholeness.
I will walk with you through the darkness,
As you remember your light.
Health Care Philosophy
Good health in my opinion is our first and best way to a full life and can look different for each person.
Whether you have good health or are struggling with changes or challenges, an individualized and creative approach is fundamental to achieve your definition of health and balance.
I see myself as a coach, a counselor, a mentor, and a friend who can also
-order your prescriptions,
-address your concerns,
-order, interpret and discuss labs, tests and imaging,
- develop a plan that meets your needs, however simple or complex.

As a Certified-Nurse Midwife (CNM), I am an RN with advanced Master's level training in women's health and childbirth and am an independent provider of healthcare for women with full autonomy and prescriptive authority.
A CNM license allows for a midwife to build upon core skills in birthing and women's health to include study and mastery of nearly any aspect of healthcare they wish to undertake. I have focused on enhancing and broadening my scope to
include primary care, with a special focus and interest in hormone-related aspects of health and functional medicine principles allowing for an consolidated approach to your healthcare needs.

About Lori
I have been in service to women and families since 1996. First as a social worker, then as an L & D RN at St. Vincent Hospital in Santa Fe. I fulfilled a life-long dream of becoming a midwife in 2012 graduating from the University of New Mexico with a Master's Degree in Nursing- Nurse-Midwifery.
I have spent most of my career since then supporting women in out-of-hospital birth and in clinic settings providing comprehensive women's health and primary care at Southwest Care Center, and most recently at Mountain Spirit Integrative Medicine.
A few years ago I completed Aviva Romm's rigorous
Women’s Integrative and Functional Medicine Professional Training Program and love seeing my patients benefit from the non-pharmaceutical approaches I learned in that course along with the herbal knowledge I have self-taught over my lifetime.
I am thrilled to get back to work after a much needed year-long sabbatical, and to be starting my own practice which I hope will allow me more liberty and flexibility.

I enjoy entering into conversations on these topics and offering my experiences and insights.
I share my life with my husband of 30 years, Chris, my three children and their partners, and my three year old granddaughter, two dogs, one cat and eight chickens.I love reading, gardening, hiking, music, meditation, dancing, painting, having fun with good people, and watching the incredible NM sunsets...
